    The mix of simplicity and attention to nature gave Prairie style homes a perfect living environment.  This movement successfully “broke the box” by deviating from traditional compartmentalization of living spaces by creating a complete environment.  He did this by using natural materials, open work spaces, and amazing assemblies of art glass. 

    These houses are credited with being the first examples of the open plan, which is the term used in architecture for any floor plan that makes use of large, open spaces and minimizes the use of small, enclosed rooms.  Even now, many architects use these techniques to create comfortable living spaces, making large open lofts and family areas or sunny sitting areas.
